Because the texture tends to settle it is important to mix it real well.





It is also a good idea to let the paint set for a while after you first mix the texture in. (So that it the paint has a chance to soak in to the texture.)

It does, but you can get the same effect if you use spackling putty or sheet rock mud and add you paint to it to get the desired texture and color. It is cheaper this way.
