Texture/consistency of period changed after use of birth control. Why?

I have been on birth control for about 4 months now. Since the first month that I started using it, my periods don't flow as normal but instead, come out inconsistently as brown gew. What could be causing the effect? Is it unhealthy?

Note: I apologize for the icky subject matter. If it makes any difference, an STD is not an option because I have never been sexually active. I am taking this for acne.Texture/consistency of period changed after use of birth control. Why?
Hi Observan. yes is normal that brown discharge is just cleaning your system its like your period but don't worry it will get back to normal you said its been 4 months well its all it takes for your body to adjust I promise you by next month you will be back to normal just make sure to drink plenty of liquids because some times that brown discharge will give u a urinary infection, Take care.

good luckTexture/consistency of period changed after use of birth control. Why?
Its just your body reacting to the hormones. It's compleatly normal, so don't worry about it.
Hormones -
totally normal so don't stress. It's just the hormones in the pill

  • Is it just me or does your hair have a different texture on the side you sleep on?

I don't really know how to describe it but yes mine does. It also will not ';fix'; the same on that side. It's like it bunches up or something. I hate it!!! LOL I have bad hair days often. Maybe if I never went to sleep HUH??

I have uneven skin texture on my face, neck, jawline, and chest. Some help?

I don't get acne anymore, but all over my face, neck, and chest there are these tiny little bumps that don't go away, even after exfoliation. What can i do to get rid of them? I prefer no super-expensive dermatologic treatments though.I have uneven skin texture on my face, neck, jawline, and chest. Some help?
I know exactly what you're talking about! I have barely-there little bumps on my above my chest and collar bone area. You can feel them just under the skin.

What I have used that has helped is a moisturizer. (For me) they seem to show up if my skin is dry. I apply a gentle moisturizer to my face, neck, and right under my collarbone. That seems to make them kind of fade a bit. Drinking lots of water also seems to help.

I also use Spectro Acne Care Gel ';Deep Pore Vanishing Lotion';. It's a little bottle that fits in the palm of your hand (I live in Canada; I'm not sure where you live but if they have it where you are, go get it!)

I love that stuff and it seems to help for the little bumps on my face and neck. I would suggest to keep gently exfoliating, maybe over time they will fade a bit for you.

Hope this helps!I have uneven skin texture on my face, neck, jawline, and chest. Some help?
Other than exfoliation.. it sounds like they're there to stay. I get bumps too, might just be natural skin texture :P we're not airbrushed in real life.

Can You Change The Texture Of Your Hair From Rough To Smooth? If So, How?

I'm African-American And My Hair Is Rough, Of Course. I've Always Wanted The Smooth Curly Hair. Can You Change The Texture Of Your Hair From Rough To Smooth? If So, How?
You can use sort of, calming conditioners.

Also, buy some straighteners - they often smooth the hair down completely and you can always curl your hair with them too, which is a bonus! Can You Change The Texture Of Your Hair From Rough To Smooth? If So, How?
get a good shampoo or ask a hairstylist
There are many different products you can use. Using Pantene Shine shampoo and conditioner for two weeks can really work wonders. Leave in conditioners like Sunsilk Hydra TLC smooths your hair while hydrating it. For curls you should have a thin curling iron, or you can use old fashions curlers which do less damage to your hair. Develop a routine based on your experience.
well if your hair it dry try using egg whites and mayonaise. then leave it on for at least 20 minutes, but it works best if you put it on wet hair, put saran wrap on your head and a towel then leave it in all night or day. then rinse it out. It might work. it's suppost to make your hair smooth and silky,

    good luck
use a shampoo like dove it really helps
it's a genetic thing so I have no idea. have you checked the hair product section to see if they have any products to do such a thing?
try: ';matrix smooth %26amp; sleek'; shampoo %26amp; conditioner

    or sunsilk brand.
Really, there isn't a way. Your hair is genetically programmed to grow that way meaning your follicles where the hair grows only has the recipe for creating one type of hair. The people you see who are darkish skinned and have the smooth curly hair either have fake hair or they are mixed with a race such as latin, asian, etc. You can really only use moisturizing shampoo, get perms, and add extensions.
PLEASE READ THIS IT IS VERY LONG BUT EXTREMELY HELPFUL!

    I'VE GOT IT!

I am not a hairstylist or anything like that but I know hair lol

I suggest a hydrating shampoo and conditioner at first. Usually they have ';hydration'; in their name so it will be quite easy to find [make sure it is good by reading everything on the bottles] But make sure they are not a 2in1 type of thing.

Get in the shower like you would always do. Clean your body first with the body wash you have. The put shampoo on your hand, it doesnt matter how much just don't put too little. take the hand that your shampoo is not on and take a fourth of the shampoo thats on your other hand and put it on the top of your head. really quickly with your hand, just spread the shampoo out for the top of your head. now, take your hair that is not on your head and fold it once to the top of your head so that that hair is showing its underside. Place the shampoo on the underside. now, just simple tumble your hair with your hands and mix and stir and whatever you do so that the shampoo starts to create the bubbles. make sure you get every single centimeter of your hair though that should do it. after that you must comb your hair with your hands [you should comb it all back] until there is not one bump or knot. now you wash/rinse your hair. the first second when your shampooed hair touches that water you start combing a medium slow pace again. just comb it once in the water thats enough. but keep rinsing until the shampoo is gone. immediatly after that you take your conditioner and squeeze it into your hand [the same amount as your shampoo] and since you said that you had really rough hair i suggest you leave your conditioner in there for about 2-2.5 minutes long. repeat everything you did with the shampoo but stop once you have finished combing your hair. since the ends of the hair are the most malnurished part of your hair which is why people get split ends, you just rub all the ends of your hair for a somewhat long time. comb your hair again. now wash/rinse it all off doing the same wash/rinse steps as the shampoo. now you are done.

what i do is i brush my hair with a comb after i get out of the shower and part it right then and there so my hair grows more naturally and quickly into the partingline i want [and then brush it so its smooth like that of course] and then i blow dry it. if you don't want to part it there its fine but the first day you use this shampoo you should blowdry it. and since you mentioned you were African-American and they typically get frizzy afro like hair when they blow dry it, you should blow dry it a day when you have no plans and are just at home. the rest is up to you.
Hey there! There's an amazing product I found called Biosilk.

I bought it at Sally Beauty Supply here.. and I've also seen it at Costco.

    Use different Shampoos and Conditioners.

    Try pantene pro-v. or finesse.

i doubt that your hair will change much, but this may help
Get it deep conditioned regularly. Hmm or go the salon it works!! They can do anything! Pantene can also work but not as good as if you went to the salon or got it deep conditioned regularly. I hope this helps!!
hmm, i would try products and shine spray and gel. maybe straighten it then curl it.
    get a relaxer hair band

Anyone knows if there's a difference in taste and texture between frozen and fresh food? and why?

Food has to be frozen very quickly, usually more quickly than a home freezer can manage. When the water in the food freezes, it forms ice crystals - the longer it takes to freeze completely, the longer the crystals get. If the crystals get long enough, they will pierce the cell walls and destroy the food's texture.

Taste is primarily affected by being stored near other aromatic foods. Freezing slows down odor transfer, but doesn't stop it completely.Anyone knows if there's a difference in taste and texture between frozen and fresh food? and why?
Great question! I couldn't understand why frozen hamburger never tasted quite the same. It seems I was doing it wrong.

There shouldn't be a difference in texture or taste when freezing foods correctly. Here are a few guidelines when freezing foods:

1.Keep foods frozen until you are ready to use them. With meats let them thaw in the fridge. Defrosting in the microwave may alter the taste.

2.Keep foods frozen in their original package

3.Organize your freezer, with oldest foods to the front so they will be used first. I always date mine with a marker.

Freezer burn will definitely alter the taste and texture of the food.

Can coloring and lightening your hair chang the texture?

my hair used to be fairly straight....but since i started torturing it with colors it dosnt fall the same way. now that ive stopped coloring it, it seems to be going back to normal. could this be related to the coloring????Can coloring and lightening your hair chang the texture?
I think that coloring your hair can mess around with your hair. It can make the texture of your hair hard. I suggest you stay away from dyeing your hair if you want smooth and shiny natural-looking hair. Can coloring and lightening your hair chang the texture?
Usually only temporarily. However, people that color their hair for years on end can damage the hair follicle. Over coloring/straightening /perming can cause permanent hair loss.
my hair dresser always told me that your hormones control the texture of your hair! but its possible that the coloring made it healthier/unhealthier and it just lays different.
not the colour itself but the damage from the chemicals does.
yeah it can make it thinner

  • Do sharks have a sense of taste, or do the only utilize smell and texture to decide on their meals?

Sharks don't have a sense of taste, but they have other senses which help them decide their meals.

Sense of smell : Sharks have keen olfactory senses located in the short duct between the anterior and posterior nasal opening, with the help of this olfactory senses they are able to detect as little as one part per million of blood in seawater.

Some species of shark like the nurse shark have external barbels( a slender whisker like tactile organ near the mouth) this barbels greatly increase their ability to sense preys.

Sense of sight : shark eyes are similar to the eyes of other vertebrates including similar lenses, corneas and retinas. Though their eyesight is well adapted to the marine environment with the help of a tissue called tapetum luccidum which increases their visibility in dark waters.

Sense of hearing : sharks have a sharp sense of hearing which enables them to hear preys from miles away.

Don't use plaster, it will chip %26amp; flake off. Get a ';palatte knife'; %26amp; ';Gesso'; (for lighter texture) or ';texturing gels'; (for variety of textures) from any art supply store, (Added links below you can view the different products available) they also have texturing materials specifically for this. Use the p' knife to scrape on the gesso or texturing compounds, let it dry completely (Usually over night) %26amp; then you can paint ontop of that. (You can also sand it or add more texture after it dries.

I don't really want any curl so I figure I can just blow dry and straighten it like I normally do. So is this a good idea for someone with hair like mine? How curly does a body wave make your hair? • What kind of texture is used in Picasso's 'Weeping Woman' and give a description of it.?

    30 points for BEST ANSWER

thanks a lotWhat kind of texture is used in Picasso's 'Weeping Woman' and give a description of it.?
The surface of the painting is relatively flat.

Picasso rarely used impasto (painting with thick paint to produce a textured finish) and what surface variations there are in this work have resulted from alterations and overpainting.

The visual texture is provided by the use of contrast, many of the colours are outlined with black and the centre of the painting is almost monochrome dark grey and white.

Texture of homemade baby food for a 7 month old??

Can you describe the sort of texture you puree your food to?? Do you add milk to it to make it smooth?Texture of homemade baby food for a 7 month old??
You don't need to add anything to it--especially not milk. It should be the consistency of hummus or guacamole. It could be runnier if you prefer. If you need to add anything, either add pureed fruits or veggies or a bit of water.Texture of homemade baby food for a 7 month old??
At 7 months, he's not ready for cow's milk. You can use breast milk or formula or clean water.

Consistency: Go to the store and buy 1 jar of stage 2 food for about 54 cents and see what it looks like.
A little bit thinner than guacamole, like applesauce, assuming your baby has been on baby food for a couple of months. And I always pureed mine with breast milk.
If you are still breastfeeding, add some of your milk to the food to make it smooth, you want it to be creamy. If you are not breastfeeding, and some formula.
My son is 8 months old with no teeth and I make his food thick, with a few tiny chunks. I tried making it chunkier but he wouldn't have it. I don't add milk to make it smooth...I use water. That's just a personal preference.
You will want to make it thick, but not chunky.

Because the texture tends to settle it is important to mix it real well.

    Abstract

A simple and fast quaternion-Gabor filter is introduced for color texture segmentation in this paper. The algorithm achieves color texture multichannel Gabor filtering via DRBFT and IDRBFT. Despite the simplicity of the whole algorithm, the segmentation results are rather encouraging. In addition, the proposed algorithm is compatible with the measurement of gray-value texture

The surface texture of paper is called the?

    The Tooth

    (copied from About.com)

Definition: 1) Tooth is the surface feel of paper. The more tooth a paper has the rougher it feels to the touch. Some inks may adhere poorly to papers with very little tooth. 2) Tooth is also a slightly rough finish that takes ink well. A preferred surface texture for charcoal and pastel art.

Does semen texture affect your child?

For example, how if you are dehydrated for extended periods of time, your semen contains yellow, jelly-like substances. Does this affect the chance of fertility? or increase the chance of a mental disorder etc.?Does semen texture affect your child?
Semen is nothing but a transport medium to get sperm cells to the egg. It has no effect on the development of the child. By the time the fertilized egg implants in the womb and begins growing into an embryo, the semen is all cleaned up or flushed away from the female reproductive tract.

Semen varies in consistency from one ejaculation to the next. The important thing for the future of the child is the quality of the sperm cells in it, which you can't see.

And an occasional yellow color in the semen is usually caused by some urine remaining in the urethra mixing with the semen while it's passing through. It's nothing to be worried about.Does semen texture affect your child?

Texture could have an effect though, more viscous makes it harder for the sperm to move... the yellowness though? That needs to be checked asap, especially if it's a kind of discharge.

Vaginal viscosity also effects fertility, which is why some women who are trying to conceive masturbate frequently, it helps create a less acidic, less viscous interface for the sperm to move.

Male masturbation is hypothesized to have similar properties.
i think the way you eat(and drink) affects the sperm count in your sperm so it could affect fertility. dont know about the mental disorder stuff sorry.

My cherry pie recipe has tapioca on the ingredient list..will this make the texture lumpy like tapioca pudding

I don't like tapioca pudding because of the texture. Will the tapioca in the pie make the texture like tapioca pudding? My cherry pie recipe has tapioca on the ingredient list..will this make the texture lumpy like tapioca pudding
Most likely not. The temperature and length of the cooking for the pie is a lot longer than that of tapioca pudding. Most if the tapioca pearls should break completely down. If you are really that worried about it you can always go to an Asian market and get the tapioca powder. The main purpose of the tapioca is to be a thickening agent. Good luck with the pie!My cherry pie recipe has tapioca on the ingredient list..will this make the texture lumpy like tapioca pudding
If you use the instant or ';minute'; tapioca, it definitely won't. The starch will thicken it nicely. I've even used minute tapioca in a recipe for slow-cooker beef stew and there were no ';balls'; of tapioca in it at all.
No it will come out just as expected not the consistency of the pudding. Tapioca is used merely as a starch in this recipe.
No it is just a thickener used for custards pudding stuff like that.you can probably exchange for cornstarch to aborb extra liquid. If you are really worried about the texture but cornstarch dulls down the colour. if you use cornstarch mix with tiny bit of cold water to form a paste
It honestly depends on how much tapioca the recipe calls for. In the recipes that I have seen, that have had tapioca as an ingredient--it was only a little bit, used only as a thickening agent. There shouldn't be enough tapioca to give it that familiar texture...but there might be the occasional pearl--more than likely unnoticeable (instant over non-instant). There are other recipes that you can search out that use other thickening agents, such as cornstarch, etc. Have fun and happy pie making!!
Nope! just gives the pie filling a beautiful clear glaze that won't thin down (like corn starch does) with time. But do use the ';instant'; type not the pearl type of tapioca. Enjoy!

    dry damp mop!
there is a product for safely removing paint from stuff called Goof Off. you can get it at hardware, paint, and home improvement stores. i would try it on an out of the way spot to be sure it won't affect the finish first though. you could also check the pergo web site for instructions on cleaning and care of your floor. good luck, hop this helps.

Kitchen walls in bad shape, wanted to texture them, any ideas?

I'm redecorating my kitchen and I have these walls, they aren't paneling or sheetrock, I call them mobile home walls (the older ones), almost like a plastic wall? Anyway, I can't afford to sheetrock them, so I wanted to texture them...I have a coffee/cafe theme and it's open to my living room and it's pretty big, so I don't want it to be overwhelmingKitchen walls in bad shape, wanted to texture them, any ideas?
i don't think texture mud will stick to the plastic very well, there is a thick texture paint that rolls on. google'; buying texture paint'; and also google';painting trailer house walls'; ..you could also put wood panel sheeting on part of it for accent home depot will cut it shorter to fit your wall. they have all of this at home depot. go shopping.have fun.

Drywall texture, looks like a paint roller pressed and pulled straight out. tried, doesnt work. any help.?

the existing texture looks like a paint roller or something like it, pressed straight onto the wall and pulled straight out to leave a veiny look. im having trouble duplicating it. any help would be greatDrywall texture, looks like a paint roller pressed and pulled straight out. tried, doesnt work. any help.?
use a spongeDrywall texture, looks like a paint roller pressed and pulled straight out. tried, doesnt work. any help.?
hmmm??...not really getting your description much...done like you said, then the tops smoothed with a drywall blade/knife??...dunno if that gets the ';veiny'; look or not...
it is a roller a fluffy one , you just roll it out and it is stucko
I would say, to shoot on your texture mixture and then wait about 3 to 5 minites, and then pull the textue that is on your wall to the side with a CLEAN ';wall knife';, something like a 8'; inch knife. I hope this answers your question, if not that try it anyways, you may like this texture pattern better than the one you have. Good luck. El Toro Malo.
It sounds like you're describing an effect done by using a roller with a big ';NAP'; on a smooth surface, like drywall. NAP is the thickness of the roller fluff; for instance when you paint over brick, because the surface varies so much %26amp; has nooks %26amp; cranies, using a normal paint roller with a short nap, you'd have to keep going over it again %26amp; again pressing down hard, but if you use the proper NAP for brick, the nap is long and gets in all those holes %26amp; crevaces a lot easier. If you use a big nap on a SMOOTH surface, like drywall, I'm sure it'd make a rougher texture as a result.

BUT generally, to get a nice texture on a wall, you'd rent a texture sprayer at your local home depot and spray the texture on, THEN you paint over it when dry. (you can create many different textures with a sprayer)

I don't want to be long winded, BUT.... I've seen THE BOMB in texture created by (maybe you'll want to try this in a different room) taking a stencil, for example, a palm tree, tape numerous palm tree stencils all over your wall. Then fill in the stencil with a thick layer of spackle compound and a putty knife keeping the texture rough %26amp; not smoothing it over too much. Pull off the stencil before the compound dries and VOILLA! You can leave it as is, paint over it for a suttle texture, or glaze over your design!

(just HAD to share that with ya!)
depending on then size of the project, you might consider using a spray applicator. If you are just doing a small hole repair, and all you have to do is finish with the texture, ( you have already patched the hole) I dont use Fixall for thise type of task since it dries way to fast and is very hard to work with when it hardens up . try using a prodct call ';quickset 20 min set'; it easy just add water and follow intructions. and when applying for a small area try using a sponge , first apply the texture to the wall , with a 6 to 8'; wall knife leaving a smooth layer, after a couple minutes 2-3 depending on how thin or thick the putty you had mixed . lightly apply the spounge and tap of the area f wet putty and move around area and beyoung the fixed repair to blend in the texture with the surrounding area.

after it has dried if you think its tp pointy .y ou can use a fine sand paper and lightly smooth to match existing texture. then paint ..

    I hope this helps

I'm not familiar with fireworks (or, at least not any software called fireworks, lol), but I use photoshop.

Photoshop has a clone stamp tool that could do this. You could also copy the layer and use layer masking, then change the blend mode on the layer.

Fluffy texture is similar to blur, perhaps add a blur to the area to give it the same feel?

Lightly mousse damp hair, and then lift it up while blow drying.Ideas on how to get my hair to get this type of texture/volume/style?
When blowdrying, take the dryer and put it under the hair. Use a cylinder shaped brush. Then, flat iron your hair going up.

Does skin color affect skin texture?

In other words, if you were blind, blindfolded, or just looking the other way, could you tell if a person were light skinned or dark skinned by touch alone? Of course, no fair touching any part of the body that shows racial differences such as the nose.Does skin color affect skin texture?
Typically in an adult, the more melanin that is in the skin, the thicker it will be, so there is a slight possibility that you could determine a difference if you had extremely sensitive finger-tips.

But...you'd be more likely to be able to tell the difference if you were aware of other tell-tale cues that happen primarily in certain skin colors: actinic keratoses and deeper wrinkles in pale skinned people, velvety growths of the axilla and neck in dark-skinned people with diabetes, etc. There's no guarantee you would be right, though, because a lot of these skin conditions can cross color borders.

Is there a way to texture 2 walls (small) without having to obtain a blower or other device?

You can buy paint that textures areas. I did it with a ceiling once and it looked really good!Is there a way to texture 2 walls (small) without having to obtain a blower or other device?
Just use lightweight joint compound. Trowel it on in long sweeps and swirls. Experiment with the technique until you get it the way you want. Let it dry thoroughly and then paint. Is there a way to texture 2 walls (small) without having to obtain a blower or other device?

Is there is a relationship between skin colour and skin texture? Thanks?

I think people who have dark skin tend to have harder skin than those with light skin colour. I've seen really white people having skin like bacon who'se skin seemed mild-soft. I am brown and my skin seems between soft and hard.

It is purely genetics. And genetics found the way through the weather in this case with the co-relation between skin colour/texture.

There are plenty of genetic identities on the planet, and it is separated in groups. For instance bald men usually have the same body characteristics in the world (back hair, usually compact body types).

No you cannot change the state of your skin concerning its texture. Is there is a relationship between skin colour and skin texture? Thanks?
ive never heard of anything to suggest that.Is there is a relationship between skin colour and skin texture? Thanks?
    whattttttt? no.
no,,,,, skin texture can have things to do with the weather, how you take care of the skin and genetics, nothing to do with colour k?
    no not in my experience

Poll: How does the texture of food affect your feelings about it?

Sometimes, I like the taste of a food, but I don't like how it feels in my mouth, so I won't eat it. Like this morning I made a pancake that was really yummy but the outside of it was oddly crispy so I didn't really like it. And I won't eat oranges because I don't like the feeling of the pulp in my mouth, even though I like the taste. :) How about you?Poll: How does the texture of food affect your feelings about it?
...texture is a big part of whether I can eat something or not... even more than taste... if it doesn't feel right in my mouth, I can't eat it... couldn't eat eggs for years because they always made me gag...Poll: How does the texture of food affect your feelings about it?
If Celery is too resistant, I'll spit it out after the 2nd minute

    of chewing.

Also: this is the MAIN reason I'm such a snob about

Legit Oatmeal. I refuse to eat the ';1-minute'; kind.

It doesn't have nearly the flavor, has fako consistency

    and is just plain wrong.

    Great Question!
i love pears but i'll only eat the ones that are soft. there's usually a mixture of hard and soft pieces of pears in the can.
Yea! once my mom made chocolate chip pancakes and it was soo crunchy on the outside i thought i was going to puke when i tasted it! but once it was chewed up, it was fine
yea I hate pulp! I also don't like some kinds of sushi bc of the texture but I LOVE the taste! It's a love hate relationship!
Yeah, I'm like that too. Although there are some things like cucumbers that I can't stand the taste or texture. People think I'm crazy for not liking textures, but I can't help it.
i dont eat most fruits because of the stringy texture

even if i love the taste like pineapple i drink the juice
I don't eat fish because of the texture. Yogurt bugs me for the same reason even though I really like the taste of it.
Yeah i hate seaweed on sushi.... makes it yukki... like sandpaper.
